Megadeth - Mechanix
Official Website: http://www.megadeth.com/
Band: Megadeth
Album:Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good! (1985/2002)
Song: Mechanix
-Dave ...
The original was actually written by Dave Mustaine during his Metallica years, so its his song and his interpretation of how it was meant to sound when Metallica decided to use it without him. The Four Horsemen is actually a remake of this version which Metallica did play before they rewrote the ...

Radiohead - Lucky
High quality audio. This is my favourite Radiohead song.
If Radiohead had never risen, Muse would either remain attached to their former garage-rock days, or produce Brit-Pop influenced material (since OK Computer replaced the Brit-Pop era dominated by Oasis and Blur). Crikey =P.

Queens Of The Stone Age - Little Sister
Music video by Queens Of The Stone Age performing Little Sister. (C) 2005 Interscope Records
The chorus is taken directly from The Wild Swans 1982 single 'Revolutionary Spirit'... Maybe just a coincidence?

@Bigboss1432Lol If we were ever to describe music to species from other planets, those bands would be the perfect chemistry with the addition of Pink Floyd clearly.

Those last 39 seconds from 7:00 are incredible. Houses of the Holy is my personal favourite for its huge musical diversity. No song feels comparable.

The Streets "Weak Become Heroes"
2002 Video
Original Pirate Material has got to be his best work and within the top 10 of the 00's. The piano loops work perfectly with urban descriptions giving each song a different mood, you can imagine everything he says.

@twinks76
The classic sound of a Roland RE-501 I believe. You would be really lucky to find them because they are so very rare being out of production for many years, though eBay you may score one. A Boss RE-20 Delay & CE-20 Chorus works for me. =)

Love Will Tear Us Apart (Video)
@DoctorDoBuggerAll As far as I know this song (video as well?) was recorded at Strawberry Studios, not too far from my house.

Scars - Leave Me In Autumn. Old Grey Whistle Test
From the album 'Author! Author!' - 1981
Author! Author! is rather timeless. It sounds like the type of album you could play to someone today and tell them it was recent music. Good songwriting and production.
-
The Chameleons - Up the down escalator(Audio)
Script of the bridge
The difference is that this band never went downhill in the end, just changed their sound to become more experimental without ever losing their artistic ability to create a mood and tunes. Both created debut albums that each contained tracks all worthy of being single material, but that was prett...

The Streets - Turn the Page
A masterpiece from The Streets.
These are some great lyrics. I actually like this album though I'm not into the genre itself, with Streets being an exception I guess because you can understand what they are actually saying. May go to the Manchester gig in February for the Computers & Blues tour.

Such a tune and stand out single. One available in the Vinyl shop I'm looking at going for. Saw them both times last year for the 2 shows where the venue was made to look very Army and Sailor themed.

The Sound - New Dark Age (HQ)
Track #10 from The Sound's 1981 album From The Lion's Mouth
Reissued in 2002 by Renascent Records.
More information: http://www.renascent.co.uk/a...
You could say the state of music today is like a 'New Dark Age'. I just watched tonight's Jools Holland and thought most of it was bobbins. On top of that we get endlessly unoriginal and unpleasant pop/indie/rap music, devoid of meaning, emotion or a decent tune so that it repeats itself as a man...

Muse - Micro Cuts
@LeeTheAstronaut This is exactly what I had in mind also. I had mentioned on the Hyper Music page, this album being there best effort for me in the way that it best keeps my interest due to the creativity and instrumentation etc. I do like Absolution though. Album wise they don't seem to be as ef...

Muse - Hyper Music
I preferred this album to other Muse albums; which I would say could be their best for me personally, especially considering I wasn't much in favour of BHaR and Resistance. Favourite album & bass line by the band, could listen to this album many times more. 2001 was a year for albums before thing...

The Chameleons - Childhood
High quality audio.
I would personally say this is my favourite of the 3 original albums, in the way that it is their most experimental and ambitious both musically and lyrically. I had read of the Strange Times description on their website from a while ago. Part of it claimed it was their favourite also. Also like ...

The Chameleons - Perfume Garden (John Peel Sessions)
the band are at their brilliant best in the John Peel sessions
The best version of this song. This album probably shows them in there purest form, how they should sound, thus it is my favourite.
