I'm a typical 20 somthin' year old guy who also happens to like horses, too. I ride horses primarily dressage style, and best of all, compete at the silver level in equestrian vaulting.
Cars, specificly driving the **** out of them (and fixing them), is the other big one. I drive an 87 Porsche 924S. I've done alot of work on it, including fully rebuilding the motor. The entire bottom end has been balanced, I did some mild porting work on the head all by hand, and port matched the entire intake system. For an early spec 944 2.5L motor, this thing really hauls some @ss.
I also find many other mechanical/electrical things quite fascinating, including refrigeration systems, computers, anything that burns fuel, especially if it goes fast as a result, custom fabricating whatever I can manage with my relatively limited resources in that respect, repairing stuff just to say I did, even though it's not always economically practical, etc.
I'm currently a college student and also work at an ice rink as the Zamboni driver (actually, they're Olympias...big difference!), which works well with my very perfectionistic nature (the figure skaters like it, anyway). I do alot of the ice tech work for the ice as well as equipment maintenance. I'm the resident ice maintenance and refrigeration operation guru. I take ALOT of pride in my home ice! I also work on a horse farm fixing things, and am also the farrier for the vaulting horses and a bunch of others at my trainer's farm. When vaulting competitions are coming up, you'll also find me up late at the barn clipping horses for hours down to the last detail. They don't go to competitions without looking perfect, and don't even think about so much as touching the clippers and trying to clip them yourself! Jk, but I do take it seriously ;) I'll give just about anything a try. I might seem pretty off the wall at times, but don't worry, that's normal. I'm easily bored with conventional thought processes and like to keep life interesting.
