Hopefully this will become a channel dedicated to Gothism (if that be the right word!). I wish to incorporate here the slightly darker side of poetry and music; be it goth rock, rock, thrash, dark romantic poetry, gothic poetry -- whatever it may be, including a selection of photographs of dark towers and bowers. For I believe, in the witching hour, even the faintest of lights will shine.
With love,
Gaia.
With love,
Gaia.
About Me:
Music is the harmony of all earthly things.
It is there, within us all; that wonderful deep need to create and touch another's heart through words or music.
But this time, I wish to understand and share it's darker side.
The darkness can be a wonderfully inspiring place; full of magic and mystery.
When darkness falls, it can reveal wonderful things to our eye and imagination we might not have seen in the light of day.
For in darkness, I believe that even the faintest of lights can shine.
Trees are wonderful in decay and create the darkest of shadows under moonlight but what is it that draws our eye to a ruined monastry or gothic building?
I believe, it is the dark romantic in us or maybe something a little deeper.
"If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here,
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme.
No more yielding but a dream".
(Quote from Midsummer Night's Dream
William Shakespeare Act V, Scene II).
"To follow through the night the moving moon, the stars and their development; or catch the dazzling lightnings till my eyes grew dim. Or to look, list'ning on the scattered leaves, while Autumn winds were at their evening song. These were my past times and to be alone; for if the beings, of whom I was one - hating to be so - crossed me in my path, I felt myself degraded back to them, and was all clay again. And then I dived in my lone wanderings, to the caves of death, searching its cause in its effect; and drew from wither'd bones and skulls, and heap'd up dust conclusions most forbidden......
(Quote from Manfred, Lord Byron
Scene II, Act II).
