I have been a big fan of Eugene Hutz (singer/guitarist) and his band for many years. Artistic roma people like him make me proud to be a "half-gypsy" like Eugene himself. Here in Finland we have Remu Aaltonen who was the same kind of rebellious gypsy type, he made some of the best old rock and roll songs ever made (he was drummer/singer) but the music of Gogol Bordello truely has the elements of traditional european gypsy music. Their music is modern gypsy music to me, even though many not-so-rebellious gypsy folk are disguested by Eugene and his band's music. The man is one of my musical heroes and i wanted to honor him by starting this youtube channel for him, and also i hope i'll help them to find ever wider audience all over the globe becouse this music truely is worth sharing with the rest of the world!
