About Me:

Since arriving on the scene on the hit show MTVs My Super Sweet-Sixteen, the young and driven LeAnetta Robinson ( a.k.a LeA) has been crowned the Granddaughter of Hip Hop. Soon after LeA's years of influence by her family's music, it was only a matter of time before she decided to enter into the music scene herself as a singer.

Because of LeA's family's accomplishments, LeA has always dreamed of making a mark on the music industry, carrying on the legacy of her family as well as creating one of her own. LeA's legendary grandparents Joseph and Sylvia Robinson, (founders of the Sugar Hill Records) were also the individuals responsible for introducing the world to its first hip hop album on vinyl. Growing up on tour with the Sugar Hill Gang and pop group sensation, NSync, LeA got a glimpse of the entertainment life style at a very young age which developed a yearning to become a performer herself. LeA has enjoyed performing ever since Missy Elliot's The Rain (Supa Dupa FLy) had been released (1998) where LeA then performed almost every weekend for her Grandmother Sylvia as well as lead singer of The Isley Brothers, Ronald Isley. LeA would perform dressed in a Giant trash bag and black lipstick in her Grandparents kitchen and enjoyed every minute of it. (Laughs) As LeA got older, her passion to perform became stronger. LeA's most memorable performances so far, other then in her grandparents kitchen was singing at New York's famous, The Bitter End, singing The National Anthem at New Jersey's Izod Center for the Nets vs. Bucks NBA Game, and The United Nations International Year of Youth Conference when Secretary-General Bon Ki Moon began dancing to LeA and her best friends song.

With music being instilled in her from birth, LeA not only possess the talent to be an incredible artist, but plans on making a name for herself as a teen leader, motivator, mogul, inspiration, songwriter, actress as well as a fashion icon. LeA wants all of her fans to know that " [they] can do and accomplish ANYTHING if they work hard," she refers back to her advice to others daily.

LeA not only has a passion for music and fashion but also enjoys giving back. Before her passion of music developed, she was and still is involved in a charity organization by the name of Comedy Cures. LeA's best friend since second grade had a mother who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Stage IV) who then started the organization after she fought and beat Cancer. LeA has grown up with this organization and continues to participate in Comedy Cures events. As well as Comedy Cures, LeA also is a teen ambassador of youth at The United Nations where she has taken part of events with High School Musical's Monique Coleman and Hannah Montana's Mitchel Musso. As she continuously adds more to her catalog, LeA's says "her greatest accomplishment by far has been when [she] got the chance to meet and sing for CNN hero, Betty Makoni." Betty has made a huge impact on LeA's life and gives her a reason to stay strong and fully support female empowerment. Betty's organization, Girls Child Network originated in Zimbabwe where the myth was believed that a female virgins blood could cure HIV AIDS. Girls from all ages from one day old to ninety six had been rape victims now infected with HIV AIDS and LeA knew this was a cause she would have to get involved in, spreading the awareness about this false myth. Betty's story was shared by Michealene Cristini Risely of Tapestries of Hope who shared Betty's story with the world. LeA as well as her best friend Lauriel Marger got the opportunity to sing their reinterpretation of a chant done by the rape victims in Zimbabwe in places like Capital Hill in Washington DC, The Directors Guild in LA, Tribeca Film Festival in NYC and have even been invited to come sing in Zimbabwe for the girls. LeA says that "Betty will always be an inspiration to [her] as well as millions of other girls and women around the world."

LeA's says, "[her] hardest task so far has been balancing [her] school work with the studio sessions and red carpet events...When up writing songs, [she] sometimes forgets that [she's] still in high school as has school the next day." Although she loves the studio, writing until the Sun rises, and posing for pictures on the red carpet, her mom has always made sure that her priorities were straight and kept school and education first. As a second semester senior in high school, LeA plans on finishing her year strong, graduating and posing on that platform when she receives her diploma. LeA is a talent that will continue to grow and develop and live up to her title as the Granddaughter of Hip Hop.
