The root sounds of ambient acoustic rock meet the incaptivating elements of world instrumentation to create a free-flowing, ever-evolving musical journey. Collaborating with musicians from various musical backgrounds, styles and personalities, Daniel Tyler Pohnke uses his conscious and passionately infectious style of songwriting to create a full color spectrum of music that empowers, inspires, unifies and uplifts audiences all around the globe. Since it's conception, dating back to a tiny thought in the minds of two friends jamming in a small southern California studio, the collaborative efforts of Full Moon Rising have had the blessings of performing and recording around the World with some of todays great up and coming artists.

In Late 2004, After 2 solid years of persistent staging at many of the major live venues in Los Angeles (House of Blues, Viper Room, Whisky, ect.) and the surrounding areas, Full Moon Rising hit the Home and Major recording studios for the April 19, 2005 release, a double disc album innovatively titled.....RELEASE. Previously started in 2004, The six song EP entitled, Transition, was released on that same day.

RELEASE, more like a flowing musical journey, is graced with eclectic world instruments such as harmoniums, djembes, surdos, congas, Bella phones, and mandolins but does not part with the rock foundations of drums, bass and guitars. Daniel Pohnke then adds the finishing touches with his dynamic, percussive acoustic guitar style and his half soul, part raspy, part humorous, personality-based sweet-yelping-tonal-tenor. For the finishing touch, Release was compiled as a story, moving from track to track using natural ambient sound effects to allow the listener to embark on a full album musical journey!

TRANSITION, which started as a major-studio recording in San Diego, is an expanding offering of thought provoking tunes that, although less dynamic in range then Release, tap into the universal consciousness elements of songwriting that are predominant in recent times. Songs like Thank the Sun and Transition are placed to evoke an higher evolution of awareness. The Track Full Moon Rising evokes the building and releasing energy of our modern society and provokes us to dance it out to the moon. Being that the album is backed by the up-beat, acoustic sounds staged in 2004, the Transition EP is a must have for all music collections.

Immediately following the CD release party Daniel embarked upon a unparalleled journey of universal conviction, taking the music on a 5 ½ month, non-formal, self-governed tour of the United States, intuitively named THE CHAMELEON TOUR. This incredible leap of faith, the fall afterward, and the rebirth have led to a deeper, wiser, more soul filled portrait of conscious based Full Moon Rising music whos ultimate intentions have become Service (SEVA).for your mind, senses, and soul when the spirit moves you.

In Late 2008, after a year long Spiritual Quest in the great motherland of India, Daniel took his guitar and a writing pad into the Anapurna Region of the Himalayan Mountains. In a deep connection to the harmony of the universe, the soul-stirring, human empowering and melodious lyrically moving tracks of BRAVE NEW WORLD came into existence. Immediately recognizing the powerful connection of these songs to this profound time in human existence, Daniel packed up his things and moved from the Spiritual Retreat of Rishikesh, India, to the World Cultural hub of Mumbai, India, in order to cultivate the connections that can help to bring this profound musical offering to the world.

In Early 2009, After only two months in Mumbai, Full Moon Rising has delivered this unifying, empowering and soul-expanding music to various colleges and youth organizations, including the Art of Living Foundation. Alongside these offerings, Full Moon Rising has played major venues in India, Including the Blue Frog and Jazz by the Bay in Mumbai.

The New Album, Brave New World, is set to be launched in August of 2009. Immediately following, Full Moon Rising will embark on a 90 City World Tour.
