This show is based on true stories of two door to door vacuum cleaner salesman in the projects of Pittsburgh.
Most of the rolls are played by Richmond area stand up comedians. Part four's credit roll montage features the actors without any effects applied.
Free Lunch was an obsessive compulsive hobby / pain in my ass that took almost a year of devoting every spare moment of time to edit. Working as a news photographer and reporter, I had access to a green screen studio and six Beta SX cams which facilitated the shooting of three characters, front and profile, simultaneously. I hoped this would be a way to skip much of the story boarding since I would be able to pick my shots in post. I couldn't have been more wrong. The lack of pre-production required excessive trial and error problem solving that nearly put me on a shooting spree. From conception to scripting, casting, rehearsals, shooting and editing, Free Lunch has been one of the best (and worst...) learning experiences of my life.
