@swiggy58a I must agree. I've listened to Carr's, Richard and Linda Thompson's (which is also awesome!), and Gram's and have to agree that Ry's version on 1977 BBC-TV is beyond amazing! His guitar solo gave me goose bumps!! I do love Gram and I love his version too,,,but as I see it (and hear it)...

@ChrisDutch I always love seeing Rick on stage, but I agree, just not the same without Levon OR Richard. In part, what makes The Band such a joy to listen to (and watch) was the heavy harmonizing and shared vocal duties of Levon, Rick, and Richard. All five were gifted multi-talented musicians an...

I am a child of the 60's and 70's and still love the music to this day. The music of The Band heavily influenced my love for classic rock. I have read and researched them extensively and to this this day, they remain one of my favorites. I was fortunate to have seen them in concert three times and hope to get to one of Levon's Rambles in the near future. Being from that era, I was an avid "concert attendee", seeing many of the musicians that were major influences on rock and roll and it's history. I also love the music of Sam Cooke, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Lovin' Spoonful, Eric Clapton, James Gang, Allman Brothers Band, Joe Cocker; Santana; The Doors; Lynard Skynard; Jackson Browne and David Lindley; CCR, Little Feat, Grateful Dead, Linda Ronstadt, Janis Joplin, and many more of the classic artist of the time. I like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and some of the other heavy rock bands, but prefer the sound of the fine individualistic "southern rock" bands somewhat simillar to The Band. I truly don't like the label of "southern rock", preferring "true rock", but it seems most have labeled these bands as such.My best accomplishment: I am the mother of an up and coming filmmaker. He is currently a graduate in film school and is filming documentaries, a music video, and teaching film as well. He has several short films on YouTube currently. Soon to be married to a lovely and wonderful young woman, I have to say I am a pretty lucky "ole' hippie"!
@nooneeverchanges Where's Robbie you asked? With all the royalty monies he ripped off from his fellow Bandmates, he was probably laying back and enjoying life's luxuries. With Robbie's and Martin Scorsese's big production of "The Last Waltz" (1976), Robbie was finished, he never toured with The B...
