Frediano Picchiotti (Italy, 1960) is a pianist and composer.

Ever curious about the world, he is driven to make fresh discoveries. In the 1990s he formed Music from the Mediterranean, a program that aims to discover and increase awareness of the modern piano repertoire of Mediterranean countries.

Mindful of his personal place in that ancient and modern world, he has included his own compositions as a vital part of that repertoire during each of his concerts.

Among many prestigious events in his career, Mr. Picchiotti was recently honoured with a tour of Syria at the invitation of the Italian Embassy in Damascus, during which he gave concerts in Damascus and Aleppo.

His compositions were used in the 2003 soundtrack of the film documentary of the City of Rome "4 Ricognizioni nelle Periferie della Città" on the planning history of the Capital.

More recently, in May 2009 his music was performed in Alexandria, Egypt, during an event organized by the Conservatoire de Musique d'Alexandrie in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Egyptien.

In the late September of the same year, he held a solo piano recital in Ancona (Italy), Loggia dei Mercanti, on the invitation of the Festival Adriatico Mediterraneo.

His suite of works, Neuvième Ordre, for piano, has been recently published by Lantro Music in Belgium.

Mr. Picchiotti is also devoting time to his love of opera singing, and enjoys photography, digital graphics, writing and poetry.
