Traditional country music with heart and soul.
About Me:
I started singing professionally in New Jersey in 1960. I moved to Wisconsin in 1965 where I have performed at numerous venues in and around the Madison area.
Some of my accomplishments include:
* Featured singer on a weekly radio show on WMAD AM
* Writer for TNN's Fandango game show in Nashville, TN
* Writer for WSM radio's "Waking Crew" hosted by Charlie Chase
* I've had the honor of working with many of country music's legends throughout my career. I've been opening act and/or backup band for the following stars: George Hamilton IV, Bobby G. Rice, Red Sovine, Faron Young, Tex Ritter, David Houston, Hank Snow, Jean Shepard, Jack Greene, Ernie Ashworth, Dave Dudley, David Allen Coe, Penny DeHaven, Jeannie Seely and soon Bobby Bare.
* Awards for "Local Country Artist of the Year"
* Voted "Madison's Favorite Country Band"
* Awards for "Country & Western Nightclub of the Year"
* Awarded Madison's "Country Music Hall of Fame" award
* Top 10 finalist in USA Network's first "Nashville Star" competition
* Named a "Local Legend" in Madison Magazine
* "Star Spangled Banner" at a Madison "Mallards" baseball game
* Nominated for "Country Artist of the Year"
* Nominated for "Country Song of the year" for "Chasing Memories"
* Nominated for "Country Album of the Year" for "Chasing Memories"
* Nominated "Classic Country Band of the Year"
* Of 2,200 auditions I was 1 of only 48 selected to appear on the Shotgun Red Variety Show on RFD TV network 2011
I'm a BMI songwriter, singer and Nashville recording artist. Several of my original songs: "Memories Wrapped in Songs", "All Over Again", "Chasing Memories", "(Big Brother Bill's) Rusty Old '49 Ford", "When The Cowboys Are Gone", "I'm Beholdin' to Him" and others have become favorites of many of my fans. If you'd like to purchase CDs at CD Baby or listen to clips of my original songs please visit my website at www.lefty-frankjames.com. If you like true country music with heart and soul I think you will enjoy my music.
