It's not the timing chain mine does that clunk clunk its the fan cover the fan sucks it in and out it makes the noise its nothing to worry about eveytime I fix the cover meaning adjusting it, it comes out again it must be that they're cheaply made or something but it's not something you should be...

@CrashJSTest I agree with you completely the pre-face lift or 2008 Toyota Highlander was way better looking and more luxurious than this one but its true the new one isn't dull looking. In my opinion I prefer the 2008 over this because I just think it was way better LOL XD.
