@10995 I was at the concert too and this was not planned at all. They played it because of the sign. Especially on the second US leg of the tour they were playing all these great covers fans had requested trying to stump the band.

@mkharahucmike it's not exactly a country song. This is a nice cover of a Bruce Springsteen song which has originally been released in the 80s.

@hopfenschorle Bruce wrote the song. It is on his first album "Greetings from Asbury Park N.J.". Manfred Mann covered the song as well as Spirit in the Night and Blinded by the Light from the same album.

@donkeysanddownbursts I know exactly how you feel. I have always enjoyed seeing a lot of different bands. But ever since I saw my first E Street Band show I find myself at shows of other bands thinking "yes, it's good, but..." often feeling as if something essential is just missing.

That might be because Bruce Springsteen wrote the song. It is on his album 'The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle' released in 1973.

@zaubertom Kann ich verstehen. Das geht mir genauso. Ich bin ein riesen Springsteen Fan und die Originalversionen sind mir immernoch am liebsten. Mir gefallen aber auch die Versionen von Manfred Mann und weitere Remix und Coverversionen brauche ich wirklich nicht.

@crystalsky84 But what songs would Manfred Mann sing without "that little peon"?? MMEB might be a great cover band but Bruce with his songwriting skills is in a whole other league.
