@BlackOpsSkidoo could be a couple of things wrong. The plunger mechanism fits into a slot to keep the front end still while youre cocking. If its not put back on right, you basically cock the whole thing w/o stretching it, and it slams forward... or, the metal pin in the cocking mechanism did not...
