Fake? Indeed, but I don't care about that. Great video editing. The only thing I would like to point out is I found quite obvious the 747 was just a picture, not a video. The 747 crashed with its left wing intact and standing high, so the physics are a little off, too.

Just to clarify FYI, though, the takeoff distance does depend on a variety of factors, including wind, density altitude, weight & balance, tire pressures, pilot proficiency, runway conditions (paved or unpaved, wet, icy, slope,) etc. so you can't calculate it that precisely. lol compare the wake of the 30(?)-foot powerboat to the 90-foot sailboat moving at the same speed. It's fair to say that sailboats are always more efficient.

That is very dangerous. If the sailboat capsizes, the power boat will be dragging the sail at 20 knots through the water.

It's cool, but it's impractical. When you arrive at your destination, you need to park it somewhere, and I am sure it won't fit into a bike rack. It takes as much space as an SUV.

Here's a thought. Since you would already have a complex mechanism attaching the fuselage to the floats, why not making that complex mechanism a suspension system? That way, the aircraft would land softly in water and ride smoothly over the "bumps" and "potholes" in the water. Or beef up the floa...

The main difference is payload. The 206 is at gross weight, and the Beaver has only a light weight pilot on board.

The 206 is still great for landing at 99.99% of all seaports because 70% of this planet is covered with water. In fact, I've never seen a short water runway before.

Damn, the hull on that boat is very strong. It flexes a little with the ribs torn out, but still, it's very strong.

The boat is not really damaged a lot; it is "getting it back into the water" that is the tough/expensive part. Probably can't be trucked out because trucks can't access the beach, and can't be pulled by tugboat to sea because it would have to be dragged 500 feet through shallow water and breaking...

The crank is mechanically linked (below deck) to one of the winches. On this boat, there is another crank and another pair of winches further aft, and yet another winch between the steering wheels. I cannot tell at all in the video which cranks are...

@3Mudbone1 Yes, I agree, but they aren't bolting every container to the next container below, which would truely be the only way to completely eliminate the risk of a container falling overboard. The containers can still slip past the cones, and, as you mentioned, the lashing bars and turnbuckles...

If they were able to take off and land again, the second time with the gears down, then that means there was nothing wrong with the gears in the first place. Definitely pilot error, but I need to watch the episode to get the full details.
