The Flip Animation Festival is now in its fifth year and this time it's bigger than ever.
About Me:
The next year we realised we had to expand. Partly because there werent enough films produced in the region between 2004-05 to make up a screening, but also because we realised we had to join the rest of the world. So things have moved on, weve made friends with other festivals in Hungary, schools in New York and Denmark.
This year we have recieved a record number of entries (over 270) representing 26 different countries.
As well as the competitions, Flip will also be showcasing Doctor Who animation and one of the many highlights is a screening of animated episodes from the 1968 series, 'The Invasion'. As many of you know, these episodes were lost but were reconstructed in 2006 by Cosgrove Hall.
Following the screenings there is a special 'Doctor Who' talk where fans can learn more about how these episodes were commissioned and meet the people responsible for making them.
The speakers are James Goss, producer of the BBC One animation 'Doctor Who: The Infinite Quest', Jon Doyle who worked on both 'The Scream Of Shalka' and 'The Invasion' and Rob Ritchie who is a fan animator and producer of a number of well received 'Doctor Who' clips.
