Jack Strong is a typical teenage boy. His family just moved to San Francisco from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He spends a lot of time with a girl named Sophie who he knows from church. He also feels a bit outcast because he is a conservative Christian living in San Francisco. Then again, he also feels outcast because he's attracted to boys.

Flight to Sinai follows Jack as he explores different paths related to his faith and sexuality. Should he go to be healed at a summer camp ministry? Should he accept his sexuality as part of him and find a church that welcomes him? Whatever Jack decides, it means giving up part of his life and part of himself..
