Very interesting. As a student of the arts, I appreciate the time and skill required to demo this stuff. From a practical standpoint however, this is not a great use of training time.

Seems to work fine on compliant and cooperative people. Not sure how it is more effective than academy level control tactics though. The lock-flow stuff is the first thing that will fall apart when the subject cranks up the resistance.

When they say it doesn't work, they don't neccessarily mean that it can't work... only that if it were real, the people demonstrating would probably not be doing what they are showing because it is not going to be reliable under realistic pressure... and they wouldn't want to get hurt.
