So this is the "amazing new revolutionary band" Mastodon? You gotta be joking me. Neither interesting nor ground-breaking. The usual stereotypical 21st-century metal growls, accompanied by riffs those of us older than 16 have heard before a million times in better metal bands.

@666Azeroth Black metal may stink but it's so damn FUNNY. So I have to keep listening to it, or at least watching it. I have given up on sitcoms, comedies, and stand-up routines. Black metal is where it's at: it's got slapstick, farce, punchlines even. What's better than that?

I never understood this exaggerated focus on KJ's early material, the 80s stuff. A couple of songs are great, but this band truly hit the stratosphere in the 90s with Jaz's now-trademark growl and a much heavier, bigger sound, not to mention far better song-writing.
