I agree that this song one of the best tracks from the album. It should have really been one big hit! It didn't get any club play due to it not being on a 12 Inch Single, along with the fact that it needed to be extended for the Dance Floor.

The vocalist on this track is none other than Miss Randy Crawford.

I feel the very same about this song... chills indeed! The remix of this song is really the best, though I don't see anyone who's posted it here yet. The 12" had I'VE LEARNED TO RESPECT THE POWER OF LOVE on Side A... and RISING DESIRE on Side B. Both were remixed for that release.

This song was originally intended for Patti LaBelle, whom when presented with the tune, kindly turned it down. When she'd heard that Stephanie Mills had a hit with it, Patti said that she should have taken it after all. I'm sure she would have done the song justice too. Both are amazing vocalist...

Too bad this alternative arrangment used in the UK 7" Radio Version wasn't used for the release of the 12" pressing from England, as it would have been a nice treat. This version was never pressed or available in Canada nor the USA.

The 12 Inch version of this song on the 1976 US Promo is the best, as it's extended. The B-Side contains the extended remix of IT'S BETTER THAN WALKIN' OUT. These remixes really do justice to both songs.

@ptownfreddy Too bad that Splash Records decided to use the Edited Radio Version only on this 10" pressing. They could have at least put the longer LP Version on the flipside to accomodate Club DJ's, seeing that this was a Promo Only issue anyway.
