Falconry is not pet keeping. It is a form of hunting. You MUST be a licensed falconer to obtain a raptor. Currently there is a FEDERAL and a STATE license that is required.
What you see in a lot of my videos is me flying my American Kestrel (Falco Sparverius) to the lure. The lure is a piece of leather that is in the shape of a bird with a piece of quail meat tied to it. Lure flying exercises the bird and also reinforces that if the bird misses a prey item and keeps trying it will eventually succeed.

Hi I just want to say that i love youre videos, they have helped me identify what i have in a large dead tree across the streeet. Ive been seeing them the last couple of years. and this year they have 3 chicks that are learning to fly right nowwere haveing a blast watching them. I do have a question tho are they endangered? because the city is going to cut the tree down this summer. and i believe they come back to it each year,. Thanks. Keep up the great videos :).

Wow. I have been breeding American and Eurasian kestrels for many years but never saw someone flying them on a lure. I always thought that praying falcons wouldn't go for a lure. Thanks for the lesson.

Hey i know how hard it is to film while hunting, i would like to see more videos. Theres not a lot of falconry videos of american kestrels.

hello friends, I want to ask how to train properly Kestrel. andra introduce my name, come from Indonesia. I have a partner for the exercise of Common Kestrel, I've trained lure. but he will not pursue lure, he only occasionally pursue and go straight down to the ground.
