Euh, well, it starts of as kind of a high school drama/music series, but after season 4 the main characters are out of high school so it matures a lot, though there were many mature topics while they were in high school as well, such as a school shooting in season 3, dealing with drugs and abandonment issues, an emotionally abusive father/husband and much more. A really deep show, actually
