@superman11978 I dissagree. McCartney was the one who was the cut above the rest, which is why he was the most successful solo Beatle (based on success while he and Lennon were releasing records side by side). Lennon was on the way out when he died, Double Fantasy would have not be the huge hit i...

Beatles drummer Pete Best on David Letterman (Part 1)
An interview with Pete Best from "Late Night with David Letterman" on July 14th, 1982. He was replaced by Ringo just before the Beatles made it big...
@OropherThranduil Guitar was overdubbed actually and i've heard those recordings played back to back with the versions that were released everywhere else (thoses overdubs were only done for the us market) and they sound the same, so they removed pets drum track and rather foolishly replaced it wi...

Pete's style was heavier than Ringos, as to could he have done those songs, we'll never know, and so what if George Martin didn't like pete's drumming, Bert Kaempfert did, so that's a matter of she said, he said.

@themanfromutopia1 No it's not end of stroy, whether you like it or not, you are not the final say on matters. I've heard pete's drumming, like it, and think he is a good drummer.

@themanfromutopia1 complete rubbish. his brother wasn't there with him when he was in the beatles and he was good enough to be there drummer for over 2 years. During that time the beatles were not known as "that band with the shit drummer", so dont make me laugh by suggesting Best can not play dr...

@beatleswithpetebest Pete Best was a heavier drummer than Ringo, both Best and Starr can play drums, it's all a matter of personal preferance.

@daddykornflakes You can try and made look like Best's sacking wasn't a stab in the back all you want but the facts are there. None of the beatles ever spoke to him again, if it was not personal they would have, and if it wasn't personal they wouldn't have lied about Best being anti-social.

From "Past Masters" (2009) "Stereo Remastered"
@siguy923 Paul was writing songs before he met Lennon. John was only the leader of a small time skiffle group when they met. It was the combination of both that made the great music. The Beatles would have never been without the two talents.
