In the Fall Session of 2008 we were going about our business making videos like we always do when something very sad happened. We lost a tape and a bunch of footage. We thought for nearly a year that the footage was gone forever until one day we made a fantastic discovery. While the footage was no longer on the tape, some magical technological genie had already ripped the footage to a hard drive. Unfortunately that genie also mislabeled the footage so we couldn't find it. But one day, while going through hours of old digital files, the old man who works in the AV room rediscovered the lost footage and FUNKMODE was able to pump out yet another video!
This video is extra special too because it captures the choreographic efforts of our little kids. We allowed each group to create their own dance and perform it for our worldwide audience. It may have taken a year, but they finally get to show their stuff. Adorable little funksters ain't they?!

We got on a Pitbull kick in the Fall 2009 session. Actually, we've been on a Pitbull kick pretty much the entire year but now even more so since his "Rebelution" album dropped. We we're even considering making the Fall Session a "Pitbull Only" Session.
For the second dance of the session we decided that we needed to do a dance for the ladies. We'd been doin a LOT of pretty aggressive, masculine dances and our female contingent hung in with all of them without the slightest complaint. Considering however that our classes are about 99% femme, we felt like it was time to choreography something especially for them. Pitbull's "Girls" fit the theme perfectly so we put this dance together and turned our ladies loose on it.

In September 2007, FUNKMODE, along with New Style Motherlode, produced a completely original Hip Hop musical called "The Hip Hop Homeroom". We brought 11 Hip Hop crews together from all over The Bay Area and cast them as different characters in the show. Each crew had their own song to dance to complete with fresh beats and lyrics. Some of the groups even wrote and recorded the lyrics themselves. Tripl3 Threat was one of those crews. They played the role of the Jocks and their song was called "School of Hip Hop". The song features their main crew members ... one of which is "Frost" who you might know as a member of "Supreme Soul" on MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew".
Since it's a hot track AND kid friendly, we decided to let our little ones have a go at it. We worked on the moves for about a month and put the video together over a few days. If you're feelin it, leave the FUNKMODE kids some positive comments under the video.
