GENOCIDE IN THE BANGSAMORO HOMELAND
The genocide Acts in the Philippines committed to the Muslim minority mostly in the southern Island of Mindanao or known as Bangsamoro Homeland is not familiar to the international community and Muslim countries but the aborted signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between GRP-MILF panels made the international community aware of oppression policy to the Bangsamoro by Philippine Governement. Killing of the Muslims started when Spaniards came 400 years ago, they forcibly Christianized locals which they called Indios and those not Christianized were leveled Moros. After generations down to other generations, hatred to the Moros inherited by the Christianized locals from the Spanish Colonial system continues.
Christianized locals migrated to the Bangsamoro Homeland supported by the government through settlement program, armed themselves and drive away Muslims from their land, for those who do not leave and rose against the government were slaughtered like a chicken in the rice field. Most of them were arrested and summarily executed by Military and Militias organized by Christian Politician. Thousands of Bangsamoro people are displaced to neighboring place like Sabah and other safer places. Most of them don't have shelter, education and orphans are unaccounted. They are experiencing poverty, humiliation and discrimination.
Perhaps hundreds of pages will be needed to write the inhumane atrocities and heinous crimes and massacres perpetrated by the barbarous Armed Forces of the Philippines and its militia against the Bangsamoro Muslims. One example is the notorious Manili Massacre where seventy nine Muslim men and women were killed at point-blank range inside a mosque. Besides this is that barbarous Tacub massacre where sixty innocent Muslims were ordered by a unit of the AFP to lie down then shot at them until they were all killed. There is the infamous Colongcolong massacre where a more than a thousand Muslims, men and women including children, were massacred by the barbaric Armed Forces of the Philippines but more than seven hundred were accounted and recorded on their side. There is also the New Pasi massacre of nineteen innocent Muslims and the Tago-ig massacre of ten school girls plus their teacher.
Moreover, hundreds of thousands of Muslim houses, mosques and Islamic schools were deliberately burned by Philippine authorities. In addition, their farms, orchards and other sources of livelihood were destroyed by the AFP and its militia. In 1970s' to mention a few of these places were in Kulambugan Lanao Del Norte,Aleosan and Pikit in North Cotabato and Colombio in Sultan Kudarat Province. In short, a genocidal war is being launched against the Bangsamoro.
Most of the heinous crimes committed by the Philippine Government forces and armed Militias (Civilian Voulunteers, Ilagas and Tadtad were totally unpublished by Philippine Media to hide the on going Genocide in the Bangsamoro Homeland.
The Filipino government is carrying out an intensive media onslaught which accuses the MILF with crimes against the civilians.They did not tell the truth instead they diverted the story. They accused Bangsamoro people as terrorists but the truth is they are terrorized. Armed Forces of the Philippines were using excessive power. They occupy, fortify the places and let their relatives to built settlement and armed them as CVO or ILAGA. Its stands for Ilonggo or Ilocano Land Grabbers Association organized by the Elite Christian Politicians. And those Muslims driven away from their land can no longer go back because their place was already occupied by armed ILAGA members.
If there is Darfur and Rwanda in Africa, Bosnia and Kosovo in Europe, Palestine in the Middle East, now Bangsamoro is in Asia, in the Philippines a majority Catholic Christian country slaughtering Muslims.
International Community is not aware of these on going untold Genocide in the South of the Philippines. Bangsamoro people want peace and freedom; they were formerly a free and independent nation.
Appealing to the peace loving people, the International community to intervene and ask the Philippines Government to stop the years of genocide to the Bangsamoro Homeland by granting them total independence. War and killings will be totally stop.
And who will be benefited? Off course Filipinos and the Bangsamoros.
