Sounds pretty unlikely that they would launch without a flight control check, but it does happen... and apparently is what happened here, according to the investigators the aircraft control lock was engaged at the time of the crash, says it all there. I've seen a guy drag his Cherokee 140 out aft...

@berndl i know a large regional airline that does LOFT training / check ride in the simulator for the Embraer... first time a new hire touches the real airplane is on day one of their IOE with passengers aboard... not kidding.

@impigz beats me... looked pretty easy. Even if it took 90 seconds its still less time than the tent i have. Hooking up the ends on the rods, staking it down, sliding the rods in and bending them to hook up to the pegs... my tent takes me a good 5-10 minutes to put up without help. I'm buying one...

@kestkr the "synchronizing gear" which causes the bullets to miss the prop IS world war one technology thats true. but... the BF-109 had synchronized cowl mounted 13mm machine guns which fired through the prop arc. so no, the guns are not on the wings in ALL world war 2 aircraft.

Picked one of these up today. I charged it for the recommended time, hooked up the shower and propane and it exceeded my expectations. I hope it performs this well in the camp. about the low battery with cold temps... just like any battery in the cold they will flat line. Set the unit within warm...

I couldn't imagine a worse airplane to do that sort of thing in. Those grummans are differential brake steering only... on those runway conditions? did that once... dont care to try it again.
