Last month, digital media artist Tim Roseborough activated the Kimball Education gallery with his multimedia art quiz show, Contenda. Contenda is an experimental contest based on "quiz bowl" events at schools and universities. Contestants are provided with a "buzzer" to answer the host's questions about artists, artworks, and artistic movements. Screen-based visual clues accompany each question. The public was invited to help the artist create questions about artworks in the collection of the de Young, while also engaging in fun and challenging pop-quizzes developed by the artist.
