If you are going to believe in superstitious nonsense such as the abrahamic religions, understand that it comes at a terrible price.
What is that price you might be asking?
The ability to distinguish reality from fantasy along with the capability to think rationally. Living your live a slave to medieval, ignorant, bigoted, sexist, laughable ideals. Holding back progress in the 21st century by claiming that two-thousand year old texts are the word of god when the content of the "scripture" is completely moronic. Adhering to a god that is petty, and constantly in need of worship like some egotistical eighties rockstar. Not noticing the blatant clues that these are all human characteristics, and that a "perfect" entity wouldn't behave in that fashion. Living your life in fear, teaching your children that if they behave badly they will burn in the fiery flames of hell (what kind of sick shit is that?!). Telling people that they don't need to enjoy life and to deprive themselves of "earthly pleasures" a.k.a to waste their lives not having any fun. Claiming that homosexuals need to live in shame, that women need to be subservient, and that in war time killing is okay because "god is on our side." Perpetuating the continued retardation of the human race as a whole. Holding back scientific progress such as stem cell research and evolution being taught in schools. Putting up a road block to science and demanding that anything that science finds must be in accordance with your idiotic fairy tale bullshit that surely no adult could possibly believe as anything more than a story with alot of violence and crazy unbelievable events in it (like the Lord of the Rings).
There is probably more, but you get the jist.
I know life is scary, and things can be hard, but is it best to live a lie?
