At European Timberframe we take pride in our ability to work with homeowners, designers, architects, engineers and contractors to design, build, and install timber frame buildings that meet the highest standards.

Based in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada in the heart of the sunny Okanagan, we are proud to offer quality, service and a level of care and craftsmanship that goes far beyond what most North Americans have come to expect when building their homes.
Local Material and Suppliers
Using only the best quality Douglas Fir timbers from local mills, we offer you the choice of planed or rough, air or kiln-dried, providing a timber to match the style you desire.

Experience and Expertise
Jakob Frei and Daniel Kilchenmann are the heart of European Timberframe.
Both European-trained, Jacob and Daniel apprenticed and worked under a system where trade and craft, design and engineering are all highly valued, where the title Timber Framer is a mark pride, distinction, confidence, and integrity.
Jakob Frei has been working as a timber frame carpenter since the age of fifteen, first in Germany, and for the last three years in Vernon. A Master Timber Framer Jakob and his family have chosen to make Vernon their home, as well as the base for European Timber Frame.
Daniel Kilchenmann, a more recent arrival in Vernon, trained at the Swiss School of Biel for Wood Engineers and Technicians. Initially trained as an Architectural Draftsman, Daniel decided to change the office for the building site, and spent
the last ten years working in Switzerland on both traditional and modern timber frame construction.

Computer Modelling
We are pleased to work with you to produce a 3D model of your home or structure that you can walk through on screen to gain a full appreciation of your project before we build
Custom design, cut, and raise with precision
When European Timberframe designs your project, we plan it with you, on Dietrichs Timber Frame design software, to the millimeter. We then cut all material precisely in our shop, and assemble on site. The result for you is a project that is exact, there are no surprises when it comes to your price, and when we are on your site building, you will be very pleased at how quickly we build.

For Contractors
If you are a building contractor, European Timberframe will work with you to add value to your projects.
Designing and building timber features for custom homes is one of our specialties. Timber entrances, roof systems, stairs, gazebos, balconies, and decks are some of the many features we are pleased to add to your home.
We will work with you to design and pre-fabricate in our shop all the components required for your project. Either providing all the timbers to allow you to quickly and efficiently assemble with your own workers, or by having us assemble on site for you, you can be sure that a project with us will run quickly, efficiently, and exactly as planned.
