There are very few totally abandoned subway stations in NYC. This video is very misleading. Take 42 st -- only a lower level is abandoned. The upper level is very, very busy. Some of these levels were originally built for projected new train lines that were never built.

    Vacant and Abandoned Buffalo

Vacant and abandoned homes on Buffalo's Rommel and Schmarbeck Avenues...lost.

    EthylMerts EthylMerts commented:

In the 1950 census Buffalo had a population of 532,000. It's now somewhere around 200,000, less than half. That's a lot of empty houses. They aren't kept up, because there is no one to keep them up. Empty city........

Buffalo Central Terminal in "Route 66"

The beginning 5 minutes of a Route 66 episode, featuring Buffalo Central Terminal. There IS sound if you turn your speakers up to 11

    EthylMerts EthylMerts commented:

Relying on memory, this episode was set to air just after the JFK assasination. It was titled "I have come to kill a king" or something like that. The title was considered inappropriate and it never ran. I believe they reran something with a less suggestive title.
