About this user
Lead singer, Ronnie Radke formed Escape the Fate through MySpace with the help of Max Green. On MySpace, they soon found guitarist Bryan Money, who subsequently brought in Vegas guitarist Omar in early 2005. Friend and drummer Robert Ortiz eventually joined on to complete the group. Debuting live barely a month later, the band found early success on local radio and quickly amassed a devoted fan base. By September 2005 , they had won a local radio contest judged by My Chemical Romance, which awarded them the opportunity to open a show on the band's current headlining tour with Alkaline Trio and Reggie and the Full Effect.
They then signed to Epitaph Records. Their debut five-song EP, There's No Sympathy for the Dead, appeared in early 2006. Tour dates through the summer followed including several dates on the Warped Tour and the band subsequently dropped off a fall jaunt with Bullet for My Valentine and Eighteen Visions when the band had personal problems and Radke was suddenly ousted weeks before the release of their first full album Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, which was released on September 26, 2006.
As of September 12, 2006, the lead Singer Ronnie Radke was reported to have left the band. The band had this to say on their Myspace page:
As of today, Ronnie Radke is officially no longer a member of Escape the Fate. We feel that in order for the band to move forward, the only possible way, to be without him. The reasons as to why are very personal. Just know that we still love him and we wish him all the best of luck in the future
Omar Espinoza Left the band during the Black On Black tour. He Stated in his MySpace blog that he left the band for good but that his leaving was on good terms, and he is still friends with the members of Escape The Fate. He Is now in a Las Vegas, NV local band The Black And White City.
On November 6, 2006, the band released a new blog on MySpace stating that Radke was back in the band. Radke also posted a blog on his MySpace explaining his absence and describing his new love for life.
The band were scheduled to Co-Headline ;The Take Action Tour but were not able to play for reasons unknown and were replaced by the band From First To Last.
On August 4, 2008 Radke was sentenced to four years in jail (with a possibility of parole by 2010). While in jail his myspace was used, posting various blogs about the new band, Mabbitt, and his former friend Max Green. Radke has recently formed a band finding members accessing the internet from prison, aptly named From Behind These Walls and is planning on releasing an album on Epitaph Records as soon as he's freed, Radke has been quoted saying ex-member Omar was involved, however this seems not to be the case as the line-up announced on MySpace doesn't seem to include him.
On May 6, 2008, Escape the Fate announced that Craig Mabbitt officially joined the band for the recording of This War Is Ours and that the album would be produced by John Feldmann (Lostprophets, The Used, Story of the Year, Atreyu). In the same press release, Mabbitt discussed his feelings about joining the band:
"I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue making music with a group of amazing people, I'm loving what's coming out of us in the studio right now and things couldn't be going better. Escape the Fate is taking over the world, so buckle your seatbelts 'cause we're here to stay."
This War Is Ours was released October 21, 2008 on Epitaph Records, soon followed by a single and video of The Flood, and an American tour with Chiodos and Silverstein.
The music video for "Something" was officially released on January 12,2009.
The band recently ended their first UK tour headline in January, with the supports of Glamour Of The Kill and All Forgotten.
Escape the Fate will be playing in the 2009 Warped Tour.
The band will also cover "Smooth" on Punk Goes Pop Volume 2, to be released on March 10, 2009.
