Which life shall I follow?
What path should I take?
Should I go left or right?
And make the same mistakes.
Like I've done in the past.
Or should I move far away and start over again?
Because I'm a senior in high school and knew too much about the game.
The Lifestyle? The People? and even about the Money?
For me it all has to change.
So what do I do.
Because I've made big mistakes.
It's either this way or that way.
What more can I say?
I guess what ever comes down to it...
I'm going to change and make my grandma proud because she's up in heaven
With all the other angles like family members
I have lost in the past 8yrs for goodness sakes
So I guess I am going to change
But not for my own good
But for someone who always counted on me
No matter what mistakes Ive made
Because in the end
I got a whole team up in heaven
Who want to see me make it
And when I hit that ball over the fence
You know I didnt do it for me
But for the loved ones
We miss very truly
Walking in this community with kids with dreams
Shows how much they are willing to go
While others don't know what this could mean
Just tells you how much they know
When people go back to where they used to live
All they see is kids trying to make a way out
Doing whatever it takes no matter what has to give
For them they don't have a choice ,but their own doubts
In a society like this there are no limits
But trying to find a way out is considered a dream
In order to get to that dream they must ask for forgiveness
Because of what they might do to make it come true
That's why people who live in these places are given less opportunity's'
And why people who don't, need to take advantage of what they have in life
Because I know family's out there who live in these community's'
But all you have to do is think to yourself and even if it means pray day and night
Living in these community's can also come with a price
All it matters in these streets is the respect you are willing to keep
For them life is like playing dice
You never know who will get swooped away or leave
Because they are willing to pay the price and try to keep the life they want to achieve
They say you only got one shot
To make it to the very top
To me its all I got
Because everyone is trying to get that spot
So I stop and think to myself
What can I do to make it to that top?
Well honestly just give it all you got
And even if you didnt make it to that spot
All you can say is you tried and never stopped
Or gave up on what you believed in
But I guess thats what makes a team
Because you have kids with dreams
Who all want to live that life
And who want to become that superstar on T.V. like they always see
So who are you to believe when someone says your not the best
Because to me, you can do whatever you set your mind to
As long as you believe
Not only in what you do
But yourself to live the life that you want to achieve
