AKA Separation of Church and State, which is reducing ties between a government and a state religion, replacing laws based on scripture (such as the Torah and Sharia law) with civil laws, and eliminating discrimination on the basis of religion.

Marriage is a legally recognized relationship, established by a civil OR religious ceremony, between two people who intend to live together as sexual and domestic partners.
