@TrezCast That's the point in blue pencil, it doesn't pick up well on camera and other image reproduction

media. So if you miss any it won't ruin your image when it's photographed (at least in the old days; often they didn't even try and erase the blue lines).

If you notice he doesn't the guys cheek gets smudged. But this can easily be corrected digitally or with whiteout ink.

This is, perhaps, the silliest thing I've ever seen done with a 'Japanese' sword.

The internet. Search for 'bokken with plastic saya' and you should get a few mail order sights. You can also get bokken with wooden saya, but the tend to be a bit too light and less robust. Okay for kata, but not much use for 'sparring'.

I feel a bit uneasy about all this throwing with a knife. Maybe in an armoured situation where the risk of getting stabbed is less, but unarmoured it seems like a recipe for a belly full of knife.

@19thaman79 Looks a bit like a harai tsuri komi ashi to me. But I do ju jitsu not judo so that might not be accurate for this judo throw.
