Facing the reality that we will all die one day is difficult and humans are subsequently prone to create afterlife beliefs as a result. There might be an afterlife and a god (of sorts) but there's NO evidence and the CLAIMS to know are having an adverse affect on our ability to enhance THIS life.
Time to put the dark ages behind us!
