We are four Bostonians who perform celtic folk music from Nova Scotia. We all have at least one parent from Nova Scotia and spent lots of time there growing up. We also embrace being from Boston and have been influenced by the rich Irish traditions of our area.
Our fiddler Doug Lamey is the grandson of Boston Cape Breton fiddling legend Bill Lamey. He's been playing since he was a kid and has studied with some of the greats from both the Cape Breton tradition (Buddy MacMaster) and Irish fiddle scene (Tommy Peoples).

We are lucky to have two of the best stepdancers in the Boston area, Pam Campbell and Christine Morrison. Pam is the daughter of fiddling legend John Campbell. Christine is the daughter of Peggy Morrison who is president of the Gaelic Club in Watertown, MA.
Pam & Christine have been dancing together for 16 years and have shared the stage with Natalie MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac to drop some names.
I sing in both English and Scottish Gaelic. I play guitar and Irish Tin whistle and make my living as a musician/storyteller. I am steeped in Irish music on my dads side of the family (Clifford's in Sliabh Luachra) and Scottish on moms side. I recieved my MA in Folklore from Memorial University in Newfoundland.

We've all played together informally over the years but are finally making it official. We've settled on the name The Boston Kiltics as it captures our love of Scottish folk music but also the fact we are from Boston and proud. This was recorded for a local TV station and is only our second official gig together.

Ed Alleyne-Johnson Busking Electric Violin in Chester UK - May 2006 Fantastic - This is perhaps the best street performance I have ever witnessed. Reminiscent of Jean Luc Ponte's visceral fusion sound. This is in the city of Chester near Wales. Chester has perhaps the only double decker shopping plaza streets, with a second level up off the street within the buildings, balconies running all the way down the streets. jablesj comments - "They were made by the victorians so that rich people would not get wet while out in the rain." The sound is unaltered from the original and was emancipated at great volume in this old town. Ed uses the looper and pedals to great effect. There are no overdubs. Incredible he commanded this fantastic show all by himself, I stood enraptured with all the hair on my body standing on end, grin stretched wide. You can see where he looked up to see my ebullient smile just before he grins and kicks in the distortion. This has been a tremendous inspiration for me. I had never heard him or heard of him before this performance. Ed is awesome! I got some albums of his from the web since hearing this. I hope I can see him again one day.

Arranged by Chad Schwartz
For my Senior Cello Recital at James Madison University in March 2006, I decided that my recital needed something extra. This is the encore of my recital. If you can name all of the zelda themes used in this medley, you are as cool as me. Enjoy!
for those wondering how i got the sheet music. i listened to the hyrule symphony mp3 and figured out all the parts from that and put it in finale. i then added two sections (dungeon from link 2 and zeldas lullaby) and changed around some other stuff (like adding the full version of the original).
***600,000 views! WOW!!!***
I just finished updating this medley (adding 3 more themes from WW and TP and fixing some small things) and am planning to have a video game concert in the fall showcasing the Zelda medley, the Final Fantasy medley, and one more I have yet to arrange.
I am also now taking suggestions for a new video game medley. Let me know what you would like to hear! (For those wondering, I just FINISHED arranging a Final Fantasy medley!)
**side note** i realize it's not completely in tune, we put it together at the last second... i actually didn't decide i was going to do it until the day of my recital.... although i must say, if i knew it was going to be this popular on youtube, i would've spent way more time on it to make sure it was perfect.

TAB AVAILABLE, READ ON...I decided that I would learn to play this tune for my daughters wedding. Seeing as she is only 3, I've got plenty of time to practise - which is lucky, for many reasons...
Yes, I am staring at the tab while I play; I can't do this one from memory yet. It was arranged by Chief Noda but modified a bit for playability by me.
Sheet music available at: http://jaw.iinet.net.au/stuff/tab.html
Enjoy, JAW
