I'm reporting the Melbourne Cup Parade myself, because the news has shown a totally false representation of it. The news claims that it was a great day, everyone was full of enthusiam, and played music over their footage so you couldn't hear our loud protesting.

There is a short video of us that has been featured on The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and Brisbane Times websites.

We were protesting about the horse racing industry in general, as many race horses end up in knackeries, slaughtered for their meat. We also chose to focus on horse jumps racing in our protest, as MANY horses are killed while jumping over the hurdles.

Horses will sometimes fall on their heads and break their neck - the actual fall kills them. Others break their legs and are put down because of it. The very unlucky injured horses are even sent to knackeries.

It is a horrific and cruel industry and I hope people will start taking notice.
