@JOEDEAN2008 She did it because if her parents found out what was going on at Hogwarts she thought they would be worried/not let her go back, so she charmed them to forget they had a daughter so that they didn't worry about her being in danger.

@kingbrandon1977 The same man, John Williams, wrote both pieces; I was just saying that he kept the same style through all those years. Perhaps I should change that to say, Fawkes the Phoenix sounds a lot like this. Hope you had a great Christmas! :)
