Homeschooled! :D

I love love LOVE music! I sing + play the piano, ukulele, and cello; and I'm hoping to start bass guitar soon. I am into photography and filmmaking, and collect vintage cameras (my other collections include rocks, stamps, and weird eyeglasses!). I am active in activism (redundant? :0) and want to make the world fair, accepting, and safe for everyone. I am in love with animals, the earth, and the art of tea. I'm currently a vegetarian for animal rights reasons, but we'll see how long I hold out (I loove fried chicken). I'm also into crafting and fashion design, and make my own offbeat handmade clothes and accessories. I read and write avidly, both books and screenplays. I love to bike and cook, too; plus I live for family camping trips, road trips/travel of any kind, and getting lost in the woods.

There are lots of movies I love, I just can't think of them all right now. I know I love all the classics from Disney. They're brilliant. Basically any old movie will do. I could sit in front of TCM for hours (and I'm talking about Turner Classic Movies, not Texas Chainsaw Massacre). I love the movies Some Like It Hot (hilarious!) and Carnival of Souls (weird and spooky). As for TV, I honestly don't watch that much, haha. I like Chuck & Hawaii Five - O, though. And I'm also a total geek for science shows (like NOVA Science Now) and history shows that deal with old objects - I'm an amateur collector of interesting vintage stuff (If Walls Could Talk, American Pickers, Auction Kings, Antiques Roadshow). I occasionally watch comedy and satire shows - The Simpsons, Saturday Night Live. And who can resist ancient I Dream Of Jeannie reruns? :)

Some modern artists I like: Taylor Swift, Cameron Blake, Coldplay (though I was a bit disappointed with their new album), The Vespers, Owl City, Bruno Mars (some of his stuff), Florence + The Machine, The Like, She + Him, Regina Spektor, and Adele. Most new stuff is rubbish, so I'm mainly into the oldies: The Beatles (and their solo careers); The Ronettes; The Mamas and the Papas; The Hollies; Nancy Sinatra; Chuck Berry; The Four Tops; The Temptations; Etta James; Evie Sands; Simon and Garfunkel; Diana Ross + The Supremes; Donovan; Herman's Hermits; Joan Jett; Elton John; Stevie Wonder; The Electric Light Orchestra; Queen; Blondie; The Who; Buddy Holly and The Crickets; Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Go-Gos; The Yardbirds; Dusty Springfield; Peter, Paul, And Mary; Paul Anka; Elvis Presley; The Jackson 5; The Everly Brothers; The Beach Boys; The Shirelles; The Exciters; The Chiffons; basically any 50s/sixties doo-wop group; and anything ancient, obscure, or foreign. My favorite composers are Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, and Scott Joplin. Please don't draw any conclusions here, I'm probably forgetting a ton of artists I'll add later. I'm starting a band myself, The Flowers, and I'll be posting some stuff within the next couple of months after I get everything up-and-running. We are an old-fashioned, all-girl rock n' roll band that also play anything from doo-wop to folk to rockabilly to country/bluegrass to sixties pop - our influences are mostly what I have listed above. Our mission is to bring back real music! ;)

Anything! I'm a huge bookworm! I love a good mystery. I'm a fan of Agatha Christie, and I'm currently reading the adventures of the brill Sherlock Holmes. :) My favorite magazine is Smithsonian (is that weird? I'm such a nerd).
