Gene, Hello, "Antarctic" is another beautiful piece composed by you. As I listen to this piece with my eyes closed lying on my couch, I was brought to the south pole and envisioned icy mountains, icy trees, icy oceans and I experienced severe cold and unforgiving ice storms. A white sheet of snow enveloped everything from houses to the streets. It was an emotional scene, one that I have never experienced in real life before and your piano music proved it, emotional, intense and oh so beautiful.
When your music ends, I was glad to be back where I physically live, in Hawaii with an average temperature of 70s F. Thank you for your music which brings me to another country, another part of the world. And most of all thanks for sharing. Wingy :) Feb 27, 2012

...I felt a turning point at around 4 min, or at the middle. I liked the 2nd half immediately because it's smoother, kind of hypnotic.
Only after going back did I recognize that the melody of the 2nd half was there in the 1st part too. That helped me reconcile the two parts as a whole.
Only after listening 3 times, did I really like the 1st part. It seemed too complex at first with many changes in volume and pace,
So the more I listened, the more I liked the whole thing, and I think it's beautiful. Thank you again for contacting me. Louis

Obviously, there is a clear overlap between Gene, her piano, nature and inspiration that surrounds them, all as a single element. Only then can one gets an extraordinary piece of music that sums up the beauty from the beginning to the last beat .. Feb 21, 2012

This is absolutely beautiful, and inspires a depth of emotion that can't be put in to words. Yours is a gift that is beyond my comprehension, to say more with a single instrument than I can say with drums, guitars and lyrics. I can't quite understand it, I couldn't even dream of communicating this much raw emotional intensity with or without words. You are amazing, beautiful, mysterious and intriguing, and everything you do will be a masterpiece. Feb 21, 2012

Your music has touched everyone's heart, including mine. I send you my prayers and best wishes for a happy, productive and prosperous future. You are well loved by many. Keep up the great work friend. maurice. Feb 20, 2012

Yes I really like this. A fantastically dreamy opening lulling you into this most beautiful piece of music. I love the delicate key changes. I can really see the cold chills of the Antarctic winds in my minds eye, but there is warmth in the music as well. Can you be alluding to the global warming effect here. Is the cycle of change permanent, will the world heal itself. Can we change our ways. I hope the answer is yes. Your music always has this effect on me. It feels so real, and.
.....has less of the flowery and more of the passion, and its sheer musical qualities fill me with joy. I love the different moods within the music, and I believe I feel your emotions. Superb work, lovely to see something so new and refreshing. From your greatest fans.....
Just one further comment. While listening and watching the video I was able to imagine a future video for this piece where you and the piano transform into a swirling line drawing set against the perpetual winter, flurries of charcoal drawn snow affected by high winds , nearby icebergs. The picture turning around like the frozen 3D photos you get on tv ads, merging and then reforming into the 21st Century environment. (a bit like the Take on Me AHA Video). Anyone out there good at drawing? :) Feb 19, 2012

OH! GENE!! Your 'Tears of Nanjing' is a pure, perfect jewel - I am truly at loss for words... Clear, crisp, rushing of waters over the soul...I can barely catch my breath. I found myself weeping and shouting for joy simultaneously! Thank you , my dear friend..!

PhillipLWilcher:
Lovely work from you as ever Gene.
Too few composers today write melodically, but you do - and I love that about your work.Striking changes of harmony here Gene.Bless you - well done!

I love your compositions. Even more I love the fact that you are aware of power of music. Music has the power to unite and the power to heal! We as a society have lost our compassion, but then I see people like you and it gives me hope. All this at such a young age! Keep it up! We need more like you, and I'm honored to know you. Sincerely, Rodney

Oh my dear friend, you are FILLED with grace, elegance, and so much beauty, and it all comes out in your music. This piece is intensely unique, and both dramatic and playful, .....and hauntingly lovely!!! You are so very gifted and HIGHLY creative in your compositions. I just love this one; it's very complex in its expression. Thank you my friend for sharing. Blessing to you and your family.

Concerning 'Cherry Blossom':
Oh my word this brought tears to my eyes. You are soooooooo gifted, so so beautiful and gifted. You must NEVER doubt it. You have more passion in your playing than most people ever know. Listening to your heart and own inner wisdom you will keep evolving and learning in your own way. I am going to share this on facebook. I know my friend will be as deeply moved by it as I am. Bless you dear friend.

Evocative, deeply moving. Don't let any1 take THAT away. Music is about.passion & expression of soul. It's where all music originated. Then humans later gave it rules & technique, often at the loss of emotion. YOU r rich with emotion. Don't ever give up ur spontaneity, passion & originality if u work on technique. Technique in anything can have it's place, but it must never be ur sole focus. Always remember WHY u love music. Many can have flawless technique, but no emotion. You are gifted. xo

Dear Sweet Soul, you brought tears to my eyes & goosebumps on my arms. I am so moved by your open heart & beautiful spirit. Your music is RICH with innocence & freshness that is so often missing in the playing of highly trained musicians. Trust that u will know when it is right for YOU to learn certain techniques. But never forget ur beautiful soul, the very thing that motivates you 2 compose such soul stirring music. I cannot listen to ur music without being profoundly moved.
