About The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra
EYSO is comprised of 5 ensembles and the Chamber Music Institute, each with their own requirements. Primo and Prelude Orchestra are string ensembles for beginning / intermediate level students. Philharmonia is a full orchestra for intermediate / advanced students. Youth Symphony is a full orchestra for advanced students. Brass Choir includes the brass musicians in Youth Symphony, Philharmonia, and a number of additional strong brass students.
Our mission is to create a community of young musicians, enriching their lives and the lives of their families, schools, communities and beyond, through the study and performance of excellent music.
