I found your channel because a couple of your videos were shown in one of my college courses. I read all of the comments left on your page and then I found myself sad that there was no more to read.... so I subscribed. Kudos for the awesome channel.

I honestly haven't noticed Rameses looking darker or more "Negroid" as the film progressed, nor do I recall seeing Moses turn lighter. When I saw the movie as a kid, it didn't occur to me that the Egyptians were meant to be Black. Part of the reason why may have been because I was unaware of the whole race controversy surrounding Egypt, but I still think the Egyptians are a little off (albeit not nearly as much as in most movies). That said, I agree that the production is overall great; in fact, it's probably my favorite Bible movie.

I'll also add that overall the movie portrayed Black African people realistically and impressively. Moses' Egyptian mother and wife Zipporah look very beautiful. I was impressed with the artwork overall especially the attention to detail with hair styles and facial features. The royal priests Hotep and Huy had a very cartoonish look but I generally like the artwork. In the commentary you hear the animators talk about the attention to detail they gave to the ethnic backgrounds of characters. Also the music and animation in that movie was amazing.

I like that movie and have it on DVD. If you go to a website titled Color Q you will find an interesting review with some racial concerns. For instance Moses looks like a Black Egyptian while he is a Prince but after living in the wilderness and becoming the Hebrew prophet he gradually becomes lighter-skinned with a more Middle Eastern appearance. Ramesses also becomes more "Negroid" in appearance as he transforms into the evil Pharaoh of the Exodus. I made these same observations when I watched it but overall liked the fact that it portrayed the Egyptians as people of color. The overall production was great.

What is your opinion on the animated Dreamworks movie The Prince of Egypt? It's definitely a beautiful movie, and I really like how the Hebrews are portrayed as brown-skinned people, but I honestly think the Egyptian characters should be significantly darker. They seem to be similar in skin tone to Moses and the other Hebrews when in real history the skin tone difference between them would have been starker (with the Hebrews being light honey-brown and the Egyptians chocolate brown).
