@MowgliX It was dismantled in more like 1939. A lot of odds and ends of it were given to the Americans to help pay off our war debt to them. Those awards are just very old awards that is all, a bit quirky and fun they are also given out to foreigners who keep quiet about it in their own country ...

It was a cheaply made film, but there are some marvelous spooky set pieces in there and the atmosphere is terrific.It was a late night TV perennial for many years at one time.

Even after the BBC4 reruns seeing the train going off into the distance and I know I shall miss it again . I have no idea why I like it, after all its about crimes and murders LOL but Wallander has something spiritual about it and this tune is the icing on the cake.

There is some perhaps unnoticed? technical brilliance in this, such as puppets that dont appear to have any strings, the minature TV sets and an impressive A bomb type explosion to name but few.
