The problem with the HR king thing is, no one knows how many home runs he really hit (Negro Leagues had a reputation for poor record keeping). FWIW, Wikipedia has him with 115 HR in 1,855 AB with a SLG% of .648 and ISO (Isolated Power, which is SLG-BA to remove singles) around .289.

And those are good numbers, but I wouldn't say hes been one of the most dominant postseason pitchers.

I don't think he should get in, but he's a better candidate than guys like Jack Morris IMO.

As much as I hate the Yanks, the "buying championships" thing is ridiculous. The Yankees might have an advantage over many teams, but they aren't breaking any rules. I said outfielders and Darrell Evans only played like 84 games as an outfielder (I thought he played more than that).

Regardless, Evans is more deserving of a spot in Cooperstown, IMO.

2006 was a weird season for the Indians. Finished 78-84 despite having a run differential of +88 runs. Of course, they were 18-26 in one run games.

Wins (for pitchers) aren't a good stat for evaluating pitchers as they are dependent on bullpen, run support, etc. Things that the pitchers don't have control over.
