My entry for the SoYouThinkYouCanVid contest. It's not my best, but I am awfully proud of it. It didn't come really easy to me, I basically had to force myself to focus and finish it in time, 'cause I'm not used to having to focus so hard on a single video. Anyways,me and a couple friends (Karrie/omgzzkarray and Mic/michelinamarie) came up with this together. I wanted to do a creepy vid, 'cause I haven't done one before, and Mic said there's not enough creepy Harry vids, so voila. And then me and Karrie basically just planned this whole thing out together, kind of. She's the one who forced me to keep working on it, hah. She's working on a sibling/sequel video to this, so keep your eyes open!
I'm not used to having an actual story that's not already planned out, so here goes:
Around third year, Hermione and Draco actually start getting along (gasp), despite previous years of fighting and name calling. At first she doesn't know how to handle the newer side of Draco, and is initially kind of creeped out/worried, but she gives him a chance.
Harry's worried, he thinks Draco's going to hurt her and doesn't trust him. At first he's just being protective over his friend. He gets annoyed when Hermione goes to meet Draco at Hogsmeade, and refuses to go, hoping she'll follow his example. (Cut to random text here:
1:18 - Stay away from him
1:19 - What?
1:20 - He's vile and cruel.
1:22 - How dare you? Besides, I can take care of myself.
Then it goes back to Hogsmeade, where Harry followed Hermione in his invisibility cloak. When he sees everyone getting along, he gets annoyed and throws a snowball at them. Real mature, yea? Then he runs off, but Hermione sees his footprints and follows him and tries to talk to him and make him understand that Draco's her friend now and she's not going to choose between them. Then he sees them talking at school, and shoves Draco, and Hermione yells at him. Then Harry's just being creepy. I didn't really show that well enough, but that's okay.
2:10 - I'm scared of you.
Hermione tells Harry that he's scaring her, and he gets all huffy and stalks off. Later she sees him going into the forest, and follows him, hoping to make things right again. Harry shows up behind her, and he snaps.
...I'll probably have to trim this explanation down later, it ended up being awfully long.

Viacom appears to have abused their ability to remove videos and entire channels through copyright claims. While I have always agreed that their property should be protected and should be removed if they needed it to be. This time they crossed the line. Actually they have done this many times before. This is not the only time Viacom has acted very aggressively with people on the internet. They do this because they are a large corporation and think they can get away with it. For the most part they have.
Recently some trigger happy person at Viacom took down the video Viacom vs you from youtube. It was obvious to everyone that there was absolutely no copyright issue with that video whatsoever. Yet it was still removed. Most videos that are taken down unjustly never see the light of day again. I am only back up now because of all the support from my viewers.
This is not just a Viacom problem, it is also a youtube problem. Anyone can accuse any channel anytime for copyright infringement. It is up to the accused to prove their innocence rather then the accusor. From what I have seen there are no severe penalties for a false copyright claim made by a channel or a business. Channels and businesses that make more then one false copyright claim need to be punished severely for their actions. This is a very serious subject on youtube and around the net. This has happened multiple times to many different channels.
There is also no distinction between a copyright infringing video and a video dealing with fair use.
TRADE MARK / COPYRIGHT INFO:
Trademarks and "service marks" — are governed in the U.S. by the federal Lanham Act, along with various different laws in the individual states. The basic purpose of trademark law is to protect consumers by enabling them to rely on recognizable marks to identify the source of goods and services.
It follows that unless there is a likelihood that the unauthorized use of a trademark or service mark will confuse consumers, there is no violation of trademark law. In many cases, courts don't need to address fair use or other possible defenses because there is no real likelihood of confusion.
But trademark rights are closely related to a number of other rights, and trademark owners will also frequently make claims about "dilution", "passing off", "unfair competition", or the "right of publicity".
"Trademark dilution" lets owner of a "famous" mark stop any use that blurs or tarnishes its distinctiveness ( Not Reputation) — even if there is no chance that consumers will be confused. Because the concept of dilution has such potentially broad reach, there are specific defenses in the federal Lanham Act that are applicable to claims of dilution. "All forms of news reporting and news commentary" are exempted, as are comparative advertising, and "noncommercial use". The First Amendment and state constitutional protections for speech provide additional protections for news reporting and commentary.
While I do state certain legal items in my videos and in my text it is up to you to do your own research. I am here to shed some light on a pretty dark subject, but by no way am I responsible for any conclusions you draw from my videos or my information. If you are going to act against someone for anything dealing with a copyright lawsuit. Hire your own attorney and go over your claim in detail with them. The information I provide is to give people an idea of the laws, but not to be the only source on them.
This subject is not over. Until youtube provides me with the proper documentation, we will not be 100% certain that Viacom did this, but all signs to point to them. Youtube still has yet to provide me with the information I have requested.

STORYLINE:
everybody knows what happened in the chamber of secrets. the memory of tom riddle is dead. isn't it?
why ginny starts seeing him again all around her?
..
tom is returned and wants back the little, pure, angelic ginny weasley. he follows her through the hallways, he haunts her, making her fainting...she wants to get rid of him...she tries to kill him, but her power is nothing against the dark lord. her friends see how she's changing, how she seems absent and far away, like living in another world...while harry is totally disappointed by her behaviour, hermione tries to convince her to tell them what's happening...but it's too late. ginny accepts tom riddle's love and goes to the chamber of secrets, for never coming home again.

I am in the Group 5, so i had to make a video with a Nickelback song.
since i'm quite awful with timing, i used the "effects" i know the most: mask & colour corrections :)
though, i made it because i had a very old project for this couple, started during december '07. half of the video belongs to that project, which was meant to be with the song "all that i'm living for" by evanescence and was also dedicated to Sirrah78 'cause i know she likes them XD. i changed the song, and i turned cookie cutters to masks XD
ok, i know there are some mistakes in the editing and now i'm gonna list them, just so you know that it's not that i didn't notice them..the problem is this was the last rendering i could do for finishing the video in time, tomorrow and the day after i cannot use my pc, but i can log on to youtube just from where i work.
ERRORS:
1:33 - the wall behind her doesn't arrive to the end of the clip :S i didn't have time to "build" it, because it was quite a difficult thing, since it's moving
2:01 - again, problem with the wall over ginny's head
2:04 - hermione's face is split into 2 parts because i made a mistake with the oberlap of ginny, which doens't cover the whole shot.

To set the record straight about the last line in the spoof, it is not at all related about Heath Ledger, that never even crossed our minds until it was mentioned in the comments, we just thought the line was funny and could be related to heros in superhero movies. We would not make fun of a man who created the coolest and scariest villain to hit the movie screen in years. Give Heath Ledger the Oscar!!
The trailer took a couple months of planning, finding locations and time to make the costumes, it took 3 weeks to film/edit the movie. We made this video just for fun because we are all very very excited about the real Dark Knight Movie and couldnt wait any longer to see it so we decided to make our own. There are real shots of Chicago in here, but all main scenes where filmed in the suburbs around the city.
The deck of cards is a "Hooters" pack, so there is no nudity on them lol the blurry video makes it seem that way though and the music is all from the "Batman Begins" soundtrack
For everyone wondering about the joker costume...we made the entire thing from scratch, alot of looking for the right colored fabrics and finding patterns that matched his clothing...it took a while to make, and the dress shirt we made a stencil of hexagons and drew them in.
