About Me:
Eric "Eazy-E" Wright got the whole U.S.A plus the rest of the world to wake up when it came to the blacks situation in the American community in the middle of the 80's. Under his alias, Eazy-E, he started a record company, -Ruthless Records-, with help from money that he had collected on the streets, and created the gangsta-rap, a part of hip hop that had millions of head lines all over the world. 31 years old, he died, only 2 months after that he found out that he had AIDS.
He was born in Compton in a middle-class family in 1963, he became a criminal in his teenage years, the life as a gangsta didn't have the plans for the future that Eazy-E was dreaming of, so after breaking up school, he started in the music business.
Eazy E was a Kelly Park Compton Crip (although he was connected to many other Crip gangs) from the early teenage years, and until his death. He is widely regarded as one of the founders of the gangsta rap sub-genre and initially rose to fame as a member of the group N.W.A, but later achieved critical and commercial success as a solo artist. Eazy-E's vocal style was marked by his youthful, high-pitched voice and his lyrics focusing on the elements of urban street life such as guns, drugs, relations between residents and the police, and deviant sexual activity.

Straight Outta Compton might seem tame by today's standards but when it came out it was revolutionary. It was the most hardcore shit ANYONE had ever heard before. It made Public Enemy look like Kid 'N' Play.
Gangsta rap was Eazy's vision. He proved it could sell. Changed hip hop forever.
