About this user
Eatman Media provides full-service, individualized representation of talent and off-air professionals in tv news, tv programming, and radio. With offices in NY, Chicago, and LA, and its staff of highly trained and experienced agents, EMS is uniquely equipped to serve the needs of elite talent. EMS's clientele spans the nation, performing in national venues and major markets and also in middle and smaller markets. All of our agents are attorneys with extensive legal and negotiating backgrounds in the broadcast and entertainment fields. Ross Eatman and Robert Eatman, the principals of Eatman Media Services, Inc., started EMS in 1994, bringing with them the expertise they acquired as top-flight executives, labor negotiators, and talent advocates for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and for Screen Actors Guild. That expertise ranged from a thorough knowledge of the daily workings of tv newsrooms to the contractual nuances of major movie, ballet and orchestra productions. Todd Foos, who runs our Chicago office, is also a lawyer with 13 years' experience as an agent.
EMS quickly established itself among the top ranks of representation agencies, and has since secured a formidable reputation based on principles of integrity, hard work, and professionalism.
We know the broadcasting business and we know not only the issues that are important to broadcast talent, but also how to represent and protect their interests. We offer each client personalized services, from an intense, customized job search and contract negotiation to career management and consultation. Since we represent only a select number of people, we are accessible and loyal to our clients and are able to devote to them the time and efforts that their individual circumstances require.
TELEVISION NEWS & PROGRAMMING
We represent tv news anchors, general assignment and specialty reporters, weather and sports talent, program hosts, and a small contingent of talented producers and news managers. We are in daily contact with news management, consultants, producers, and other tv decision-makers to explore the job market for our clients.
Our objective is to develop and nurture major market and national talent while accommodating our clients' professional and personal goals. We have clients in almost all of the top 25 markets and devote much of our placement efforts to Top 25 and network positions. But our efforts extend to providing our clients in smaller venues with the tools and consultation they need to reach that level.
We are hands-on representatives, involved in everything from detailed critiquing of our clients' work and assembling of resume tapes to career planning. Our job search efforts rely on personal contact with news and programming managers, and we follow up every individual tape and resume that we send out.
Because of our background, we have superior skills and knowledge in the negotiating and legal aspects of our work, and we devote a good deal of preparation and effort to each negotiation. Our sophistication in negotiating and contract matters enables us to better protect and serve our clients.
But our representation efforts do not end with the securing of a position and negotiation of a contract. We remain in regular contact with our clients, are accessible by phone, and return our calls.
Finally, we also enjoy an excellent reputation among news managers.
RADIO
We represent top morning radio personalities and radio talk hosts around the country, and count among them syndicated personalities and some of the biggest names in the business. Our reputation and successful track record in radio ensure our continued access to major decision-makers employment opportunities.
