Earthsearch UK (Earthscan) is a Metal Detecting resource provided by Archaeologist and Historian James Balme highlighting the major contribution that metal detecting is making to our understanding of the past and to archaeology today.

James has made numerous important discoveries from the Prehistoric, Bronze Age and in particular the Roman period. His work continues to uncover many more ancient treasures from the earth. James brings archaeology to our screens in an easy to understand format.
James featured in his own episode of Time Team for the 2007 series with Tony Robinson and since has featured on various other programmes highlighting his archaeological discoveries. James Balme is now working to secure his own archaeology/history TV series in 2009/10
James carries out live presentations featuring many of his archaeological discoveries and highlighting his television experiences over the years.
James is a TV Expert in his capacity of Historian, Archaeologist and one of the leading Metal Detecting experts in Britain today with over 30 years of experience.


Throughout 2009 / 2010 James will be investgating further the ancient Roman settlement that he has been researching for the past 11 years.
