The subject of the video should be the train, NOT other camera operators, and any sounds made during the video should only be those normally made when a train passes, NOT induced by the camera operator by hand signals or other means. those actions distract from the scene being viewed.

My first suggestion is to get a Tripod. My second one is to stop panning and zooming. Don't move the camera if you don't have to. Let the trains do most of the moving. If the train starts out out of frame, let it move into frame on its own, don't try to help.
