Their different styles along with their mutual love and passion for music and their determination to make it in the rap game, make them one of the most distinctive and eclectic duos in the Hip Hop genre right now.

ECO (Ernest Christopher Ortiz) was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and has been flowing and writing since the age of 13. Earning a name for himself by entering any freestyle battles, his goal has always been to become one of hip hops elite MCs. RICANA, was born and raised in Puerto Rico, came to the U.S. in 1995 at the age of 14 and immediately fell in love with hip hop music and has been rapping ever since. Influenced by hip-hop and reggaeton (Spanish rap with reggae nuances), he has a unique style and flow that separates him from any other MC in the game.


THE BIRTH

ECO-N-RICANA began working together in early 2002. The two came together to do a collaboration on ONE track that was to appear on RICANA's first album. The two MCs clicked right away. The vibe, energy and mutual love for the music they were creating formed a union that was destined to be and after collaborating on the record decided to form the group E&R, ECO & RICANA. ECO & RICANA have earned a name for themselves independently. They boldly released a 5 song EP titled "Just the Beginning" and started independently promoting it by performing in clubs and local and state wide events, building a word of mouth fan base that is almost a cult-like gathering. Their perseverance would not go unnoticed. They have performed alongside such known artists as Daddy Yankee, Don Omar,Pitbull,MIMS,DJ KHALED,Cool & Dre and have earned the "street" cred that most MCs in today's game create on paper from appearances on several mix-tapes. They have also introduced their own series of mix-tapes titled "Free Agents" which are distributed by street teams and several online websites.

THE NEXT LEVEL

ECO-N-RICANA are primed and ready to take their music and careers to the next level... WORLDWIDE. Writing and producing their own material independently, they bring a distinctive sound to the game. The mix of ECO's hard delivery and lyrical content and the smooth flow and style of RICANA, they combined their skills to create a sound that is unlike any other in hip-hop. With their unique sound and allure, the sky is the limit for these "Free Agents".
