Interesting. Soon I will be working with a TRUCK equiped with an ALLISON AUTOMATIC an that Push Button Selector. My only concern is... What would happen when those buttons won't work or have a problem???

That is SILVER BULLET 1. MACK E9 V8. Silver Bullet 2 is also a MACK SUPERLINER but it has a Cummins QSK19 engine. Bullet 1 has 2 exhaust stacks and black painted frame. Bullet 2 has a single exhaust stack and red painted frame. That is how you can tell wich is wich.

I won't mind to hear that engine all day long!!!! not like today's quiet engines wich are boring. Every engine back then had their distinctive sound....

Wow!!! Look at the space between the cylinder liners (or is it cylinder bores???) Looks like a strong engine block because that space between cylinder liners / bores.

Thanks for the ride man. It brings back those good memories. Is the CHEVROLET / GMC 366 V8 a stout and reliable engine??? Got a friend that has a 1983 GMC / BLUE BIRD powered by 366 V8 and he tells me that the 366 V8 is more reliable than many of the diesel buses he has.

@okbridges That front end was used in SCHOOL BUSES until 1983. They change it in trucks in 1973, but kept them in BUSES till 1983.

3,324 HORSEPOWER. 12 DETROIT DIESEL 8-71 BLOWERS (AIRBOX- SCAVENGING BLOWERS??), NITROUS AND SUPERCHARGERS. A SINGLE MACK E9 V8 CAN PUT THAT AMOUNT OF HORSEPOWER WITH 4 TURBOCHARGERS AND ACTUALLY FIT ONTO A TRUCK.

NICE CLEAN TRUCK. THAT F700 IS IN TOP SHAPE

Well the diesels got smoked by the gassers. Even with all the torque diesels can put to the ground, the gassers won. I guess I won't underestimate the gassers again. I like both Diesel or Gas. Gotta love that rumbling V8 sound!!!!

@MDSerles Killer Mack, Killer Too, Buckeye Bulldog, Silver Bullet 1, Bad Dog, Poor Boy's Mutt, Demo Dog, A Rude Awakening, Gun Fire, Scaled Dog, Thunder Dog are the best PULLING RIGS that are powered by MACK E-9 V8 engines. Do not trash that RENAULT just because how it LOOKS, those are the truck...

@yermyahu You are right on that brother. My 2012 MAXXFORCE ADVANCED EGR DIESEL spends more time at THE SHOP than at THE JOB. I do like all these OLDER TRUCKS with GASOLINE ENGINES for POWER. OLDER TRUCKS RULE!!!!

Well the MACK did it with a true DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE (MACK DIESEL ENGINE) and one (1) turbocharger. The PETE truck has a QSK19 wich is NOT a DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE, it might be related to the CUMMINS KTA600 block, but QSK19 did not came in OTR TRUCKS.

Is there any sort of parts availability for this older HARVESTER INTERNATIONAL V8 engines???? Are the engines the same no matter if it is on a LOADSTAR TRUCK or a SCOUT or PICK-UP????? Gonna get an older INTERNATIONAL LOADSTAR School Bus and it has a 345 V8 on it....
